Arms assigned to Gabriel-Robert Dufour: Arms assigned to Gabriel-Robert Dufour. These arms were adopted at Alma by the Association of the Dufour Family of America Inc., at the general foundation meeting, September 6 , 1989. These arms are presented to the yearly gatherings. "The old Norman families had a crescent on a field of gold and three stars of silver on the blue background at the bottom of the coat of arms, crossed by a gold chevron stripe. The two crossed swords and the knight's helmet decorate this coat of arms."

But, because Gabriel-Robert Dufour was originally from Lisieux, some kilometres to Honfleur, Calvados, we believe that the Arms of Quetteville and Longuerue could have been his arms and that they would suit him better than the one adopted by the association in 1989 that are arms of the Dufour, Barons of the French Empire. Gabriel-Robert was only a simple marshal or a blacksmith.

The Arms of Quetteville and Longuerue were assigned to the Dufour families of Quetteville (Calvados, c. Honfleur) and adopted by Louis Dufour, abbot of Longuerue. This famous abbot lived 1652 to 1733. Born at Charlesville, dép. of the Ardennes, this scholar is the author, among others works, of a historic and geographical ''Description of the ancient and modern France'' (1719), and of interesting piece ''Recueil de pièces intéressantes pour servir à l'Histoire de France'' (1766).
